Covid-19 Quarantine & Financial Policies
If my camper tests positive for COVID during camp:
Regardless of vaccination status, if your camper tests positive for COVID-19 while attending camp, they are required to quarantine for (5) days from the date of the positive test. Should you present a member of the camp team with an official positive PCR test from a medical professional, camp will provide you with missed days of tuition credit (up to 5). No monetary refund will be issued. This credit can be used to extend your camp session during the current season (i.e. – increase your shorter session, if space is available) or count towards the 2023 season. No credit will be issued with a rapid test or note.
If my camper is a close contact of COVID during camp, but has NOT tested positive:
If your camper is classified as a “close contact” to COVID while attending camp and has not received the COVID-19 vaccination, they are required to quarantine for (5) days. During those days of required quarantine, the camp will provide you with missed days of tuition credit (up to 5). No monetary refund will be issued. This credit can be used to extend your camp session during the current season (i.e. – increase your shorter session, if space is available) or count towards the 2023 season.
If your camper is a “close contact” to COVID-19 and IS vaccinated, they are permitted to attend camp if they are symptom-free and negative for COVID-19. Should you decide to keep them home out of an abundance of precaution, no credit will be issued for any days missed. Campers who are fully vaccinated are not required to quarantine.
For example: If your camper is enrolled for 4 weeks and they miss a week due to COVID-19, they can make that week up later in the season (pending there is space available) OR, they are offered a credit for the following season. If an 8-week day camper misses one week, they will receive a one-week credit (based on their 2022 tuition) to be used in summer 2023.
Long-term program suspension of services:
If there is a Federal, NYS-wide, and or NYC-wide mandated shut down longer than 10 days, Commonpoint Queens will not make any additional charges to your payment plan until restrictions are lifted and the agency is greenlighted to safely open and resume programming. At that time, your payment plan will resume. If your camp bill has been paid in full, a refund will be issued for any unused days of camp until the program is greenlighted to resume.
Please note: the mandates, policies, and guidance on the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and our agency and programs are faced with new and changing information in real-time. We will continue to update our policies based on current circumstances and make all families aware of any changes or adjustments as they are available to us. Anytime a policy is changed, it will be communicated to the email address on file for your child and will be effective on the date it is sent out.
